The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia’s national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. We are a full member of the National Intelligence Community, a Department of Home Affairs portfolio agency, and a member of the Five Eyes Law Enforcement Group.
The Communication Officer works closely with team members to deliver a high-quality communication service under limited supervision. The role is responsible for providing strategic external and/or internal communication advice and support across the agency.
The Communication Officer works in a small team responsible for implementing the agency’s internal and external communication strategies, coordinating content for the monthly internal newsletter and weekly email bulletin, responding to media enquiries, updating the intranet and website via a content management system, supporting executive communication, assisting to manage events, coordinating graphic design requests and ensuring the correct application of the ACIC brand.
The position will work closely with the Assistant Director Internal Communication or Assistant Director External Communication as well as the Director Strategy, Communication and Reporting to support the Chief of Staff and ACIC executive.

In assessing suitability for employment, the ACIC conducts a pre-employment screening process. This requires the applicant to complete a pre-employment screening form for the purpose of character and background checking, and a psychological assessment.
At this time, pursuant to a comprehensive risk assessment, all vacant roles across ACIC’s National offices are advertised on the basis that full vaccination against COVID-19 is a pre-condition of employment.
