About the Role
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) Sterilising Services practices as a member of the Central Sterilising Department (CSD) with a variety of tasks in providing a service of reprocessing reusable surgical and medical equipment. The AIN Sterilising Services is responsible for providing efficient, effective sterilising practices according to best practice standards.

  • Demonstrate a keen approach to learning and understanding the CSD routines, theatres and procedure rooms and inpatient ward requirements specific to Bayside Health Service.
  • Work cohesively with the CSD team, utilise effective communication to work collaboratively and assist team members. Always work under the supervision of an EN/ENAS/RN/CN.
  • Report progress regularly, has a positive attitude and maintains enthusiasm for duties.

Demonstrate ongoing commitment to:

  • Acquiring technical knowledge and skills in line with the advancements in sterilising department.
  • Ensuring standards for documentation and that they are always adhered to through the digital platform.
  • Adhering to standards and legislation as they pertain to the department.
  • Upholding the Metro South Health iCARE2 values at all times.
  • Employing risk assessment and management framework to all situations and report/escalate as appropriate.
