About This Opportunity

The primary purpose of the position is to support to the Queensland Bioscience Precinct's reception.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administration Responsibilities
  • Receiving and screening of visitors and calls, directing to appropriate area where necessary.
  • Programming of staff and student access cards.
  • Maintaining QBP Visitor register and access cards.
  • Maintaining the visitor car park register.
  • Processing bookings for QBP Boardroom and all meeting rooms.
  • Maintaining registers for meeting room keys and equipment.
  • Collection and sorting of incoming mail to QBP.
  • Providing basic administrative support for QBP infrastructure staff.
  • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Receptionist to provide a range of support to the major tenants within the QBP. You will be working as part of a small, but highly effective team. This role is a great way to launch your administration career at UQ.

  • Completion of year 12, with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist role.
  • Sound computer skills and experience in using a range of software packages including the Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Flexible, well organized and the ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Completion of a traineeship in office reception/administration, is desirable
  • Experience in a university or large organisation, is desirable

What We Can Offer

This is a Fixed Term, Full Time position through to February 2024 at HEW Level 3. We are also willing to consider a part-time 0.8 FTE arrangement.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $58,005 - $63,991 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $67,866 - $74,869 per annum
