MAURI has an extensive presence in commercial livestock Animal Nutrition across the region. Our Animal Nutrition segment is a core focus of the MAURI business, comprising approximately 30% of our business, with feed manufacturing facilities in Sydney, Perth and Rangiora, selling into a range of large and small commercial livestock producers.
About the Role
We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Commodity Buyer based initially at our Bentley Mill, Perth and then at our soon to be opened state-of -the- art feed mill at Hope Valley, Perth You will be principally focused on buying commodities (Wheat, Barley, Canola, Lupins) using a combination of sources to ensure cost effective procurement for Weston Animal Nutrition (WAN) WA mill requirements considering safety and quality throughout the entire supply chain.
Communication with key customers, creating value for them in the buying process through tailored purchasing programs will be a crucial part of this role.
Understanding Supply and Demand functions, negotiating with Grains industry counterparties and contracting tonnes according to demand profiles will form your key tasks.
The ability to interpret market information, define procurement strategies within a collaborative environment and implement these recommendations is crucial.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a similar capacity and strong strategic and commercial acumen; supported by sound commercial judgement and well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also have exceptional communication skills, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to build sound relationships with various key stakeholders internally and externally to the business. Critical to your success is an understanding of the Australian Grain Industry and GTA trade rules. The candidate will have an already extensive network, proficient in the Australian grains industry.
