Position Profile

Money Management is seeking an experienced editor to oversee Australia's leading business-to-business financial services publication and lead its editorial team to continued success. The successful candidate will be a passionate journalist with an eye for a solid story, a born leader and proud to keep their publications at the top of their field.

The Money Management editorial team not only takes great pride in its news-breaking ability and in-depth features, but also its special reports such as the Top 100 Dealer Groups, Master Trusts and Rate the Raters. Money Management also plays a very active role in the financial services industry through events such as Fund Manager of the Year, Financial Planner of the Year and Adviser Risk Awards.

Main responsibilities

  • Oversee the publication cycle of Money Management’s print edition and the Money Management website, including its Investment Centre and daily email newsletter
  • Oversee Super Review’s print and online output
  • Manage a team of journalists and support their professional development
  • Write news articles and features for print and online
  • Support Money Management’s events business
  • Co-ordinate Money Management’s suite of research projects, such as Top 100 Dealer Groups and Rate the Raters
  • Proofread, edit and improve articles written by the editorial team
  • Represent Money Management in public forums as required.

Skills and attributes:

  • A proven track record in reporting across the breadth of the Australian financial services sector
  • Experience of overseeing print and online publications
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • A reputation for reputable reporting and thought leadership at an industry level
  • Strong contacts book in the Australian funds management and advisory sectors
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office, common publishing tools and content management systems; and
  • Relevant degree qualification in journalism, communications or finance would be highly regarded
