About You
You are passionate about providing exceptional Health Safety Environment & Wellbeing (HSEW) and Return to Work (RTW) support and services in a complex and challenging environment. You display an empathetic approach and high emotional intelligence and have subject matter expertise across health safety and environmental matters. You have significant experience in Safety Services Management which allows you to provide robust advice, guidance, counselling and education. You have good time management skills and can multitask and are flexible to respond to challenges. You’re a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.

About the Role
Reporting to the HSE Director – Justice and Immigration, you will provide the overall coordination of Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing procedures in the workplace at the Adelaide Immigration Transit Accommodation (AITA), Adelaide Remand Centre (ARC) & Northern Alternate Place of Detention (NAPOD). You will ensure consultation and communication amongst employees and management. You will implement programs to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel and to assist injured employees in all aspects of workers' compensation and rehabilitation for compensable and non-compensable injuries. You will facilitate coordination of rehabilitation and return to work activities to support employees with work related and non-work-related conditions and ensure all injuries and incidents are investigated at the appropriate level.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
Diploma or greater in HSE field
Sustained experience in a similar HSE position, responsible for multiple sites
Practical experience working in remote environments
Experience working within a multi-discipline/multi-function environment such as corrections, immigration, construction, security
Hold a Return to Work Qualification
Maintain ‘’Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing” HLTPAT005
Where required maintain a current “Working with Children” certificate in accordance with the relevant state child protection legislation

This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment including an Australian Federal Police Clearance as an essential selection component for this role.
