The Role

The IMA team provides technical support to our Claims Advisors to enable optimal recovery and well-being outcomes for our customers.

This role offers the opportunity for an IMA to use expand their existing clinical and insurance skillset into an analytical and influential role within the CTP claims environment. Critical analysis of clinical information to facilitate best in class recovery support within the QLD CTP framework is a key aspect of the role.

Due to a recent change in the team the IMA will ideally having injury coding experience and assist in process improvement initiatives to injury coding services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise as well as negotiate and influence stakeholders to facilitate a best practice approach to injury management and achieve timely sustainable outcomes for the business whilst promoting the recovery and wellbeing of the customer.
  • Manage the performance of external service providers to ensure key recovery objectives are met.
  • Coach Claims Advisors to ensure a sound understanding of Injury Management is applied when making decisions.
  • Independently manage high volume workflow to ensure legislative schedules are maintained.
  • Horizon scanning to identify clinical partner opportunities to improve business outcomes and customer recovery.
  • Support team leader to design, implement and analyse intervention initiatives which address persistent pain risks.

Skills & Experience

  • Allied health background and qualifications - mandatory
  • A completed allied health degree (E.g. Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy; Psychology; Rehabilitation Counselling etc) is mandatory
  • Experience in insurance and/or occupational or vocational rehabilitation is essential with experience in CTP industry highly preferred
  • Ability to work within a biopsychosocial model
  • Must be commercially minded and ability to consider multiple factors (medical, legal, insurance, psychosocial etc)
  • AIS2005/2008 training desirable
