Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. Services include Aged Residential Care, Assessment Referral and Individual Support Services, Community Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, Youth and Family Services and Holocaust Survivors Programs.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated Administration Assistant to join the Employment Centre and be part of a holistic approach for supporting Victorian job seekers, which may include other services from the Individual and Family Support Team. This position is for 30.4 hours a week and based on St. Kilda Rd. The successful candidate will work with a Job Advocate within a team of dedicated and experienced professionals devoted to providing employment outcomes and vocational pathways for job seekers facing barriers to finding work.

The Jobs Victoria Advocates program aims to:
  • Assist Victorians prepare for and secure employment through the provision of information, referral and connection supports
  • Mobilise an agile and proactive workforce to identify Victorians in need of support across the state
  • Contribute to a more coordinated and streamlined service experience for jobseekers

Jobs Victoria Advocates will work in local communities to ensure Victorian jobseekers know where they can go to find the information, advice and support they need to move into sustainable work. Advocates play an important face-to-face navigation role in their local communities.
Jobs Victoria Administration Assistants will support Jobs Victoria Advocates by coordinating logistics and nurturing connections to other host organisations and Jobs Victoria. Jobs Victoria Administration Assistants may also support other administration functions that contribute towards the delivery of outcomes for the community.
As a Jobs Victoria partner and NDIS accredited provider the Employment Centre works within a number of government guidelines for supporting disadvantaged job seekers particularly people living with a disability or mental health. The Employment Team contains both Employment Consultants and volunteer mentors. You will also be part of case teams with social workers, financial counsellors, disability support workers and housing workers within Jewish Care.

The key responsibilities of this role are:
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to approach difficult tasks and work in changeable environments.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Ensure the accurate recording and storage of performance data and other information and monitor the accuracy and timeliness of data recorded in all relevant databases.
  • Answer phones in a professional manner ensuring calls are directed as required.
