As the Rehearsal Assistant for major departmental events in particular Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage (CGEN), you will assist with the delivery of rehearsals, including supporting creative contractors such as choreographers, conductors or vocal coaches to ensure a smooth, efficient and effective rehearsal process, including the delivery of show week.
The role includes some weekend and weekday work from February through to August 2022, this can include 1-2 days a week from February, with show week running from Monday 11 July - Saturday 16 July, which will be a 6-day commitment. The main purpose of this role is to provide support to members of the Programs and Events Team across major rehearsals and preparation ahead of events.
Please note, a First Aid Certificate and Queensland Driver's licence is desired.

Your Role:
As the Rehearsal Assistant you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Programs and Events team and contractors to ensure the success of rehearsals.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, students and stakeholders to organise and deliver rehearsals. Rehearsals and performances will often be scheduled on weekends and outside of normal working hours.
  • Assist in the dissemination of project and event information to teachers, parents, students and key stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the production team for the successful delivery of CGEN, MOST, Fanfare and other events delivered by the Programs and Events Unit.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
