An opportunity exists for a part-time Research Assistant (3 days per week) to join the Epigenetics and Development Division. The primary objective of this position is to determine the genotype of mice with respect to the presence of cancer genes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintenance tasks required to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
About the position
An opportunity exists for a part-time Research Technician (3 days per week) to join the Epigenetics and Development Division. The primary objective of this position is to determine the genotype of mice with respect to the presence of cancer genes accurately enter these into a database. This position is a key function in the laboratory upon which all other projects critically depend. After a training period, the successful applicant is expected to take complete responsibility for the accuracy of the results produced and recorded, as well as and for the organisation of the work in their periods of absence. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintenance tasks required to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
Terms of appointment
This position is available for one year in the first instance, with prospects for further contract periods. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience (HEW 4 – HEW 5, $66,612-$82,743). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
