Reporting to the Research Grants Manager, the Research Grants Officer Post-award (RGOP) provides high quality support with all aspects of post-award grant management, including assisting with the institute’s compliance with funding bodies’ and procedures, coordination of reporting, and compliance with ethics requirements and other milestones.

The Research Grants Officer Post-award is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to researchers in the interpretation of funding guidelines, execution of funding agreements and research awards. In addition the RGOP is responsible for variations, compliance, and maintenance of research records and data. They will liaise with researchers, department staff, Peter Mac Operations, and University of Melbourne in coordinating acceptance of research funding and the timely submission of reports to funding bodies.

Selection Criteria
Essential: Industry experience in the scientific research field: A strong working knowledge of grant/fellowship administration processes in the Australian scientific research community, which includes Grant post-award administration of successful applications.
Essential: A high level of personal integrity/discretion with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Essential: Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills with proven capacity to excel in an independent, highly confidential, ever-changing work environment
Essential: Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills with strong editorial and documentation skills, especially in relation to technical documents
Essential: Experience in using word processing, spreadsheet, database and Internet applications and tools
Essential: The ability to work well both independently and within a small team; especially in a high traffic area open office plan.
