Salary: $116,403.00 - $132,700.00 base per annum

Position Summary:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Specialist Mental Health Programs Manager with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The successful applicant will be expected to be able to manage a range of direct reports, including nursing, social worker, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, psychologists, dietitian and Clinical Neuro-psychologists.

The manager will work closely with the staff specialists of each respective team to further service excellence and delivery. A key imperative of this role will be to provide day to day management of each team and those close partnerships both internal and external to SVHNS.

Position Duties:
The Specialist Mental Health Liaison and Outpatient Manager is a newly established position with the focus on leading a series of teams to advance in areas of:

  • Coordination of both the OPMHS, CLP teams and Eating Disorders staff.
  • Assertive and proactive community mental health treatment for older person’s residing in the SVHS Mental Health Catchment
  • Leading and supporting service development in partnership with the respective teams leads
  • Creating alignment with the mental health strategic plan leading strategic priorities on behalf OPMHS, CLP and Eating Disorders.
  • Look for opportunities to integrate telehealth and virtual health into community care delivery

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. Relevant tertiary qualification in a health related or community development field and or appropriate health experience including relevant work experience in mental health.
3. Demonstrated experience managing operational, financial, human resource & workplace health and safety considerations.
4. Demonstrated skills in identifying partnership opportunities and successfully managing relationships with external stakeholders.
5. At least 5 years’ experience in working in Mental Health in a clinical capacity with specific experience in adult or older person’s mental health.
6. Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives, clinical policy and procedure development and implementation.
7. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system.
8. Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet conflicting deadlines.
