The Unit Security Officer (USO) will be responsible for physical security and is to ensure the entity fully integrates protective security in the process of planning, selecting, designing, and modifying its facilities for the protection of people, information and physical assets; In areas where sensitive or security classified information and assets are used, transmitted, stored or discussed, certify its facility's physical security zones are in accordance with the applicable ASIO Technical Notes, and accredit its security zones.

The Role:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the SPP (Security Policies and Plans) for the physical entity inclusive of ICT/cyber and acts on behalf of the Chief Security Officer
• Describe how the business will achieve the SPP requirements, while also guiding all personnel on their individual and relevant security responsibilities
• Conduct SRA (Security Risk Assessments) as required, Identifying and documenting threat vulnerabilities and associated potential impact/blast radius
• Undertake regular threat analysis identify any additional requirements to protect sensitive and classified information, activities, technologies, intellectual property, people, and assets
• Ensure security controls meet the Security Policy and SCCG (Security Classification and Categorization Guide) elements
• Conduct Regular security reviews and audits
• Implement physical security measures that minimize or remove the risk of harm to people, information and physical asset resources being made inoperable or inaccessible and being accessed, used, or removed without appropriate authorization
• Facilitate Communication
• Vendor management
• Point of escalation for secure facilities

The above will not all be utilized through day-to-day operations, however a broad understanding and capability to undertake these functions as required is essential. You will perform a key role in delivering security to meet our Federal Government Security requirements. Among other responsibilities this includes managing security guarding / guarding supplier service delivery and performance, security incident response, maintaining audit readiness, systems, process and procedure implementation, and site selection/assessment.

Suitable applicants must have:

• Active Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Clearance (Mandatory)
• Previous similar experience
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• High attention to detail
• Have extensive customer service experience
• Intermediate to advanced skill in computer operation
