This exciting newly developed role is your opportunity to bring your Wellbeing and Return to Work experience to our Wodonga Council People and Workplace team.



The Role

The primary objective of the Wellbeing and Return to Work Officer is to coordinate the injury and illness prevention initiatives, injury and illness management, return to work processes and claims management for ill and injured employees who have sustained work related or personal injury or illness. The role will act as the primary liaison between injured or ill workers, their supervisor, treatment providers and insurers.

The position will establish effective partnerships across the organisation and keep up-to-date on workers compensation legislation and best practice strategies and systems.

As the successful candidate, you will also be able to demonstrate the following Key Selection Criteria.



1. Experience and/or involvement in developing and delivering health and wellbeing programs for workplaces.


2. Demonstrated experience in illness/injury prevention and illness/injury management for medium sized organisations.


3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.


4. High level of personal integrity that keeps confidences, gets the job done and aligns with the values of Wodonga Council.


5. Demonstrated ability to have difficult and uncomfortable conversations with staff regarding their health and well-being.
