The Academic Officer: Program Development provides high level advice to key stakeholders in the areas of program development and review across the full range of Academic Unit programs and courses. The position requires an expert level of knowledge of the Academic Units’ academic programs in order to guide and advise on University and industry requirements for each specialised area of study.

This position, a recognised reference point for Academic Units, is responsible for driving and managing the program and course approval administration process to facilitate the development of quality program documentation and ensure the consistent interpretation and application of University policies and procedures.


Core Responsibilities

 

  • Create, develop and review program and course documentation
  • Provide high-level support and advice to academic and professional staff
  • Provide program and course development policy advice
  • Drive and manage the administration of the Academic Units’ program quality assurance and review processes
  • Manage projects relating to program and course administration


Essential Skills and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated previous experience working in a senior administrative position, involving the provision of advice and recommendations to senior staff
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and editing complex documents for a wide range of audiences
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures
  • High level verbal and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising and negotiating with people at all levels both internal and external to an organisation to deliver quality customer service
