About the Role
This role is responsible for efficiently and effectively carrying out all administrative duties associated with a patient’s admission to Nepean Hospital, including reception duties, medical record management and accurate data entry for all patients.
Primary objectives:

  • Provide a courteous and efficient reception service to patients, visitors and staff.
  • Accurately identify and record data on compensable patients.
  • Accurately enter data into iPM.
  • Complete paperwork accurately relating to admissions, discharges and transfers.
  • Ensure completed paperwork is remitted in a timely manner to the appropriate departments.
  • Provide reports from the iPM database to departments within Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) as required.

This position is to cover Wednesday's and Thursday's.

About Applying

To apply, you need to be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an appropriate work visa.

Selection Criteria to be addressed:

  • Previous experience in a front line customer service role and the ability to effectively use problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Extensive and varied clerical knowledge, including reception and data entry experience
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated competence using databases or patient administration systems, preferably iPM or similar, and experience in using MS Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and time manage daily in a busy and demanding environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated experience in filing and maintaining medical records

Base Salary $59,763
Superannuation 9.5%
