The major function of the Art Design Assistant is to assist the Director of Arts Design and the learning area staff in the organization, management and provision of non-teaching services.
The Art Design Assistant will work as directed by the Director of Art Design and in liaison with the teachers and the Occupational Health and Safety Officer on a range of jobs including:
Administrative assistance, including preparation, collection, checking and storage of ordered materials and equipment
Liaise with Director of Art Design and Director of Community Relations to manage the annual Art Show
Photocopying and printing as required
Liaison with retailer and supplier representatives
Assisting VCE Art, Studio Art and VCD students with folio preparation and presentation
Technical support to staff and students in classes
Organization and maintenance of storage areas and classrooms
Maintenance of darkroom
Preparation of materials and equipment for classes
Maintenance of equipment and tools
Planning and preparation of exhibitions of student work
Maintenance of the Kiln room including the firing programmes, glazes and glazing, kilns and kiln furniture and dust reduction
Collate OH&S material and information as required working with the OH&S Representative
Assist the learning area in the documentation, copying, scanning and photographing of student work
Other duties as directed by the Principal, Business Manager and Director of Art Design
