About the Role

This key role will provide effective administration support to the Building Services team with a focus on the new swimming pool registration and compliance program. It will provide a welcoming and professional point of contact for general enquiries, and will ensure that appropriate attention is given to the administration of Council’s Municipal Building Surveyors functions, statutory obligations and responsibilities.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous administration experience within a Council Building Department and in particular in the administration of the mandatory swimming pool registration and compliance program is highly desirable.
  • Highly developed office administration skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Proclaim CI, and TRIM is highly desirable.
  • Understanding and commitment to the concept of positive customer service.
  • Ability to organise own work and set priorities to achieve objectives within set time frames.
  • Exhibit well developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage difficult customers and in particular in response to swimming pool registration, compliance enquiries and complaints received by Council is highly desirable.
