The focus of the position is to ensure SVHM participates in clinical trials bench marking process at the national level. This will assist SVHM to identify where delays occur, and the impact of subsequent measures to reduce these delays by providing critical information in forward planning of all activities to reduce the time frames of research governance processes. This position is responsible for project management of the industry liaison and research facilitation projects including the Annual Research Report, Annual Research Week, the Annual Research Endowment Fund and the St Vincent’s Bridge™ program with supervision from the Deputy Director of Research.

Contribute to other projects under the direction of Deputy Director of Research
Participate in risk management and continuous quality improvement activities as part of day-to-day work
Classification for this position will be a HS1 ($58442.80 base salary per annum; pro rata for part time work)
Highly developed organisational skills to enable the incumbent to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines
Excellent written, analytical and report writing skills, in particular the ability to draft reports, procedures and other documents of high quality
Proven ability to read and implement complex information in the form of legislation, Codes of Practice and Guidelines and use that information to provide advice to stakeholders
Proven ability to work in a team in a very busy and dynamic environment
Computer literacy, including knowledge of MS Word and Excel, experience with database systems such as MS Access and on-line communication packages
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Department
The Research Directorate oversees research activity across St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne)(SVHM), including promoting and facilitating research, developing new research opportunities, providing research educational services and managing research governance.
The Research Governance Unit is primarily responsible for administrative governance of research at SVHM by providing secretariat support to the Human Research Ethics Committees, Animal Ethics Committee and the Institutional Biosafety Committee, and ensuring that research protocols conducted at SVHM are compliant with all relevant guidelines and legislation.
