  • Lead and manage the activities of the Immediate Action Team, ensuring it achieves the OHO's paramount objective of protecting the health and safety of the public.
  • Provide high-level advice to the Health Ombudsman in relation to immediate actions matters which appropriately consider administrative law principles, legislative requirements, risk-management factors, relevant precedent and demonstrate sound decision-making.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of business improvement projects to enhance and increase efficiency and sustainability of the health service complaints and notification processes, including:
  • research and analytical skills to identify and inform key projects- implement relevant project controls to measure and monitor the progress of the project- deliver on agreed project objectives, including coordinating and conducting reviews of complaint management processes, developing frameworks to deliver sustainable business improvements- continuously manage and mitigate risks and issues that may impact on the successful implementation of the objectives of the projects- utilise contemporary change management principles and practices.
  • Actively support and promote a culture of continuous improvement and business excellence, recognising achievement and innovation.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the executive office, including managing staff, providing formal guidance and supervision, and ensuring staff function in an effective, efficient and economical manner to ensure operational and legislative targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and strategic networks with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage other projects and activities as directed by the Health Ombudsman.The role description will outline any qualifications, licences and specific requirements of the role.
