WesTrac are looking for a self-motivated and passionate Employee Relations Business Partner to join our team in this newly created role.

Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, this individual will undertake a diverse range of employee relations activities including managing a caseload, undertaking strategic project work and supporting the development of our Team Members in ER matters.

The successful individual will have strong industrial and employee relations skills and thrive in a complex and demanding environment. They will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in a professional, proactive and effective manner.

With strong knowledge and practical experience of employment law and the FWA, this individual will be a trusted advisor and professional. They will have the ability to assess complex situations and work collaboratively with others to resolve issues efficiently, effectively and in line with WesTrac Values.

To be successful the following is required:

  • Relevant human resources or legal related qualifications and/or strong Employee Relations experience in a blue-collar and unionised workforce. (Mining, Construction preferred)
  • A proven understanding in the application of employment law, relevant case precedent and industrial instruments
  • Strong communication skills including stakeholder management across all levels, grievance resolution and facilitation/ training.
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to complete documents such as Team Member letters, investigation reports and case notes
  • Strong MS Excel skills with the ability to use pre-built templates to undertake analysis of remuneration BOOT tests against differing industrial instruments
