About us

The Victim Services Support Operations team within VSSR includes the delivery of specific services, including the Victims of Crime Helpline, the Victims Register, as well as funding the state-wide Victims Assistance Program to provide eligible victims with flexible case management services to meet their practical, emotional and psychological needs to help manage the effects of crime.

About the role

The role of the Helpline Operations Manager is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Helpline, provide direct line supervision to the Helpline Supervisors, Family Violence Practice Leads and Victim Support Officers, support complex cases, priority initiatives and operational tasks and undertake on-call work as required. In addition, the Helpline Operations Manager participates in strategic and policy work within VSSR as it relates to the Helpline and the broader victim services network.

The role will work to increase awareness of issues pertaining to crime victimisation and promote evidence-based reforms to achieve required improvements in victim and system outcomes.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Operational management experience within a diverse and complex human service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to people leadership including but not limited to managing people, developing staff capability, leading and navigating change with respect to Helpline Operations and practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff and provide regular supervision to operational staff.
  • Understanding of the nature and dynamics of family violence, the legislative and service system contexts in which family violence services are delivered and best practice models in responding to victims of this crime.
