As a key member of the Hobart City Council leadership team, the Manager Strategic Communications and Marketing is an integral role for Council, responsible for leading the whole-of-Council communication and marketing strategy and aligning that to the City's vision, creating an environment driven by connection, transparency and strategies built on openness, inclusiveness and integrated communication and marketing principles.
The Manager will be responsible for forging collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders both internal and external to the City and for providing strategic and trustworthy advice to the Lord Mayor and the elected members, the Executive, other senior staff and the community. Key to the Manager's success will be their ability to know the City, its clients, its community and proactively monitor the environment for emerging trends and issues that may impact the City.
Concurrently, the Manager will form a cohesive and professional team of experts that are internally recognised by their colleagues as the authoritative centre for advice and support on all communication and marketing messaging and activities.
