The Team
We are proud to have a motivated and expert team assisting primarily survivors of abuse. This dedicated team of Solicitors, Law Clerks, Paralegals and Admin Assistants work on numerous cases to make a real difference in the lives of their clients.

In response to increased demand to secure resolutions for our deserving clients, an opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join a supportive and friendly team, who strongly believe in handling our clients' claims with empathy, and a willingness to think creatively.

The Role
A rare opportunity for a Paralegal to join our team in Brisbane has arisen, on a full time permanent basis. This role provides support across our Abuse Law practice as they experience continued success and growth, here at Shine Lawyers.

This unique role has a strong client focus, with a significant amount of regular client contact. It is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Paralegal who is wanting to stretch themselves, and take even more ownership of client matters.

Please note that during this time, remote onboarding and work from home opportunities exist.

  • Assist Solicitors with the day-to-day operations of files/client management and handling claims
  • Be the first point of contact for clients
  • Prepare matters for conference and hearing including preparation of court documents, legal documents and general correspondence
  • Correspond, brief and liaise with Counsel, medical practitioners and other experts
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and external to the organisation
  • Assist clients with their enquiries
  • Manage complex databases of information

Required Skills

  • Significant demonstrated experience in a paralegal or administration role within the Personal Injury space
  • Strong written skills in drafting legal documentation and other correspondence
  • Client service oriented, with excellent communication skills
  • Well refined organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of pre-court and court processes
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and show great commitment
  • Comfortable to work under pressure when needed
  • Demonstrated experience in Abuse Law will make your application competitive, but is not essential for success
