About the role
Based in the Darwin Support office with regular travel to various communities in East Arnhem land. You will be working under the direction of the Regional Youth Coordinator and in collaboration with the project team as well as the Community Services Division more broadly to support the implementation of the East Arnhem Land Youth Model (EALYM).

This position will require regular travel to remote Aboriginal communities in East Arnhem Land


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train Yolngu staff across four EALYM communities, including engaging in the recruitment process and the onboarding
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to Yolngu staff
  • Undertake regular travel to the EALYM communities to support and monitor the delivery of EALYM activities
  • Provide operational support for the organisation and implementation of monthly Leadership Group meetings in each community
  • Assist in the collection of data for the Monitoring and Evaluation framework of the EALYM

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in planning and organising project activities
  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development or relevant field
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of a diverse group of people
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current Ochre Card or willingness to obtain one
  • Willingness to undertake a 4WD Training Course
  • Manual Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience working with Indigenous people is highly desirable
