We currently have a permanent opportunity for a full-time Records Officer within our Innovation and Information Services team. Reporting to the Records Administrator and working alongside a team of three, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring an efficient and reliable electronic document recording and distribution service is provided for City of Darwin.

The key service delivery of the role includes, but not limited to:

  • Proactively undertake efficient, accurate, secure and timely handling and storage of City of Darwin's hardcopy and electronic information, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Provide a consistently high standard of customer service in relation to records management, freedom of information and information privacy across the organisation.
  • Conduct searches for records and information across various internal databases and external service provider databases for stakeholders.
  • Respond to general public enquiries that relate to Freedom of Information and Information Privacy.
  • Process records for offsite storage or disposal in accordance with records management policies and procedures, including appraisal and sentencing of records, allocating correct retention and disposal schedule, updating disposal statuses using EDRMS and moving archive boxes.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar records management or administration role
  • Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • A clear understanding and application of confidentiality and privacy principles
  • Sound organisational skills and an ability to meet timeframes

The fulltime position has a base salary of $63,210.00 per annum plus superannuation. In addition to your base salary, you will also be entitled to six (6) weeks annual leave, fifteen (15) days personal leave and other entitlements.
