We are looking for two energetic, flexible and highly motivated team players to develop and deliver a variety of waste projects and programs within the Sustainability & Waste team.

One role will lead the delivery of Council’s recycling education and audit program. The other role will lead the delivery of Council’s Food Organics trial and food organics program. Both roles will develop and deliver community education resources, programs and events that promote sustainability, waste avoidance, increased recycling and divert waste from landfill.

Some of the main priorities of the roles include:

  • Engaging with residents to implement food waste and recycling programs
  • Education of staff and the community in the area of resource recovery and waste management
  • Fieldwork and inspections to support Council’s waste and resource recovery services

Motivated, experienced, and passionate about what you do, you will be committed to continuous improvement and have a passion for resource recovery and waste management. This position will include work outside of normal business hours, such as early morning and weekend work.

To be successful in this role you will need to have tertiary qualifications relevant to waste management, environmental or sustainability fields, or demonstrated experience, technical skills and knowledge. You will have excellent communication skills including the confidence to deal with the community and other departments within the organisation. You will also have the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment with a high degree of computer literacy essential for this position.

  • We are offering an attractive remuneration from $80,954 - $93,097 per annum + super + allowances where applicable
