About the role*

The Safeguarding and Risk Officer has a child protection focus, and will assist in investigating reportable conduct allegations of abuse and neglect in relation to children, and reportable incidents relating to children and vulnerable adults in our NDIS funded services.

This is a Permanent Full-time position.


  • Undertake investigations into reportable conduct matters
  • Providing advice and support on Safeguarding to CatholicCare staff;
  • Comply with Government and internal reporting requirements
  • Assess incident reports for risk and determine if they have been appropriately escalated
  • Organise and facilitate Safeguarding and Child Protection training to staff

Skills & experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (eg: Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Teaching, Police, etc..)
  • Experience in the children and families or Disability services sector
  • Casework/counselling/interviewing skills
  • Experience in coaching others or delivering training
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and undertaking investigations
  • Good report writing skills
  • Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check required
  • Valid NSW Drivers License

Experience with conducting investigations and demonstrated understanding of reporting requirements under the NDIS or Reportable Conduct scheme will be highly regarded.
