About the Department
The Rheumatology Department is Australia’s largest centre for care of people living with Scleroderma. The department provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary clinical care for people living with this complex condition and undertakes research including clinical trials of new therapies and epidemiological research.
About the Role
The administration assistant will be working with a team including medical staff and clinical nurse to assist with making appointment for patients attending the clinics and co-ordinating special tests with clinical visits. They will assist with data entry into the national Scleroderma database. In addition they will assist with clinical trials by preparing documents for Ethics submissions as well as preparing materials for clinical trial visits and entering clinical trial data. They will also be required to manage the financial aspects of clinical trials tracking billing and payments for clinical trials.
The classification for this position will be HS2 ($66,768 per annum pro rata).
Arrange appointments for patients attending the scleroderma clinic and book annual tests as required
Assist with data entry for national registry and clinical trials
Prepare documents for Ethics applications and prepare annual reports for all trials
Manage billing for clinical trials
Other administration tasks as requested to support the Scleroderma team
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Excellent computer skills
Some understanding of simple financial procedures
Some knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage
Demonstrated highly developed written, communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
