About the Role
The Undergraduate Student in Nursing / Student in Midwifery (USiN / USiM) assists and supports the Registered Nurse (RN) in the provision of direct/indirect person-centred care and required unit duties within the Logan Hospital response to COVID-19. The program includes responsibilities within the swabbing clinic, vaccination clinic, and concierge service at the Logan Hospital, pursuant to the scope of practice of the Nurse Grade 2 position, relevant training and the NMBA Decision-making Framework for Nursing and Midwifery. This role provides an opportunity for ongoing development of the undergraduate student into the professions of nursing and midwifery, the organisation and healthcare team culture and function.
The Logan Hospital COVID-19 Support Program delivers safe and efficient care to the Metro South Health community. The purpose of the role is to assist in the observation and facilitation of all areas of the Support Program including efficient and safe operation of the swabbing clinic; delivering safe care through close observation, escalation, communication and reporting of any other clinical concerns including vaccine related reactions monitoring; and surveillance and assistance with staff and visitor entry to the facility. Outreach to Beaudesert Hospital may be required.
