Ventia are currently seeking a Estate Maintenance and Operational Services Manager (EMOS) to join and support our Defence contract in Darwin, Northern Territory. We currently provide support across five Defence bases in the NT which includes four sites in Darwin and one in the Katherine area as well as a number of remote ranges. We provide Cleaning, Hospitality and Catering, Grounds Maintenance, Sport and Recreation, Range Contract and Estate Upkeep services across all sites. The diversity the Defence Base services contract offers, means no two days will ever be the same – Which is sure to keep you on your toes.

The primary purpose of the role is to strive for service excellence by partnering with business and contract leadership to ensure successful contact delivery, driving a successful team, management of the client relationship at all levels, implementing improvements and efficiencies in day-to-day operations.

As result we seek to employ people who will succeed in this role and who will likely have:

  • Experience in managing and driving successful outcomes in a large team
  • Have a sound understanding of financial P&L's
  • Have demonstrated operational experience, with an understanding of the Australian Defence Organisation highly regarded
  • Understand the challenges of operating in the NT
  • Sound understanding of customer relationship management with contract management experience.
  • Experience in high volume hospitality highly regarded.
  • Able to work effectively with people from diverse national, cultural, linguistic and religious/spiritual backgrounds and to deal with sensitive issues in a manner that is respectful of people’s individual dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Results focused with the ability to identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to balance the requirements of working in a secure environment whilst promoting healthy routines for clients.
